God made a sweet child
a child who never grew old
He made a smile of sunshine
He molded a heart of pure gold
He made that child as close to an angel
as anyone ever could be
God made a Sweet Child
and He gave that dear child to me
The God saw His wonderful creation
growing very tired and weak
so He wrapped the child in His loving arms
and said, "You my child, I keep"
But now my Sweet Child is an angel
Free from hurt and pain
I'll love you forever, until we meet again
So many times I have missed you
So many times I have cried
If all my love could have saved you
Sweet Child you never would have died.
I cannot think of anything more devastating than to hear the words “we have confirmed you have a primary brain tumor, cancer”. For a parent, child, patient, spouse or loved one there is nothing that will set you back on your heels, confuse, anger and leave you feeling powerless as those few words.
The feeling of helplessness, not knowing where to turn, what is fact, fiction and out right criminal scams is overwhelming. When my perfectly healthy, vibrant twenty-four year old daughter was diagnosed with a primary brain tumor in her brain stem, one doctor told me her expected survival was two to three years, another doctor seventeen to twenty. They were both wrong! Rebecca succumbed to this dreaded affliction in nine months.

Primarily to leverage available technology, search engines, artificial intelligence and other computer based tools to guide families and victims through the mountains of information available to make informed decisions.
I believe that the established medical community, big pharma. and insurance companies are not providing optimum treatment plans for patients. That treatment decisions that are made early on can have major implications in treatment options downstream. Alternatives are available; one decision early on can exclude the patient from emerging research, clinical trials and other treatment options. I am convinced that a better job can be done to design a comprehensive treatment plan, based on available facts, current research and individual circumstances that will provide better guidance than the experience I had working with the premier oncology departments at Dana-Farber, Duke, Cincinnati Children’s and others.
Our goal is to leverage existing technology and information to provide better tools to help patients make better informed decisions, separate fact from fiction and devise a working plan in conjunction with the established medical communities.
Secondarily, encourage and support research such as metabolic therapies, ketogenic treaments and others that are promising but do not have the support or attention of the medical, pharma. or insurance establishment mostly because of a lack of financial opportunity. Funding for alternative treatments and research with the goal of bringing knowledge from these activities to the mainstream, established medical communities.
All donations will be directed to the above activities, the foundation is 100% volunteer; no proceeds will be used for administrative or related expenses. The foundation will leverage the public charity tax-deductible status of The Single Cause, Single Cure Foundation.
